Held by the Wind

A solitary form emerges within a field of movement, rooted yet constantly reshaped by the air around it. The tree does not stand in stillness; it bends, stretches, and disperses, its presence carried outward through sweeping gestures and layered color. Blues dominate the surface, shifting in tone and density, creating the sensation of depth, water, and sky folding into one another. Flecks of gold and green surface intermittently, like moments of light caught mid-motion, then dissolve back into the current.

The paint itself becomes part of the landscape—built up in some places, scraped back in others—revealing a sense of time passing across the canvas. Nothing remains uniform. Areas of intensity give way to quieter, more open passages, allowing the eye to rest before being drawn again into motion. The composition resists containment, suggesting a landscape shaped not by fixed boundaries but by continual exchange.
