Standing Watch

The iconic rock formations of New Brunswick’s Bay of Fundy rise from the shoreline as enduring witnesses to the passage of time. In Standing Watch, shifting light and textured brushwork capture the quiet strength of these coastal sentinels, shaped by some of the highest tides in the world.

Built with expressive layers of oil paint and palette-knife texture, the composition explores the dialogue between permanence and change. The weathered stone formations remain steadfast against the ever-moving sea and sky, creating a sense of resilience, solitude, and connection to place.

Inspired by Canada’s Atlantic coastline, Standing Watch invites viewers to pause and reflect on the enduring presence of nature and the stories held within the landscape.
